23-inch iMac on Sept 12

Since news first broke of a September 12th Apple press event on Wednesday, speculation has been feverish about Macs and iPods that may be introduced at the event alongside a likely iTunes Movie Store. News followed courtesy of MacBidouille that iMac and MacBook Pro supplies are low in Europe, pointing towards computer updates. The latest information is that one of the products to be introduced at the special event will be a 23-inch iMac, according to AppleInsider. Featuring a mobile Core 2 Duo processor, the new model would feature a 1920x1200 resolution - making it ideal for 1080p video and general movie viewing. If valid news, the introduction of a 23-inch iMac would be accompanied by iPod and iTunes updates, in keeping with historical Apple introductions. The company released the iMac with built-in iSight in 2005 as a companion to the first video-capable iPod and video purchases through iTunes 6. As BusinessWeek and other sources indicate an iTunes Movie Store launch at the same time, Apple is almost certainly creating a movie-friendly product ecosystem: a 23-inch iMac would be positioned as an ideal system to view full-length movies purchased from the iTunes Movie Store, while a widescreen iPod would be used to view those same movies away from home. Confirmation of this lineup is still far from definite, but is becoming increasingly likely ahead of the Apple press event.

    F*ck yeah!

Man, I really hope this event brings all the goodies! I might have to take out a loan for this one...

I wish they'd announce these things the day before, so there wouldn't be such a long wait.
