iHome iHM1B iPod Speakers

iHome on Monday previewed the iHM1B, a compact speaker system intended for the first-generation iPod nano. The cabinet-shaped design provides stereo sound while still safeguarding the iPod's body against scratches, iHome says. The enclosure also gives easy access to the iPod's click wheel and hold switch. SRS TruBass technology is built into the speakers to improve low-end frequency response. The iHM1B is currently available only in black and will ship for $30 later in the fall bundled with a water-resistant case; the status of a version designed for second-generation iPod nanos is unknown.
