ZScanner 700 3D Scanner

Z Corporation says it hopes to change the accessibility of laser scanning with its recently launched ZScanner 700. While most 3D scanners must sit upright or even remain stationary to generate the final image, the ZScanner is handheld and can automatically detect its relative position. This completely eliminates the need for a fixed mount or for stitching together a final 3D object, the company says. The scanner connects to any computer through FireWire and can be used as a simple way to generate 3D models for artwork, games, or industrial designs. Z Corporation currently sells the device to professionals for $39,900.
