Accurian Tabletop HD Radio
Radio Shack today began carrying Accurian's new Tabletop HD Radio, a home receiver for those who live in areas where the high-quality terrestrial broadcast format is available. The system supports both HD2 stations as well as all the data associated with them, Accurian says. Listeners can view song information, traffic, weather, and other data on the system's built-in LCD, which can also indicate signal strength and other features not present with analog radios. The company similarly boasts improved quality for earlier technologies. The Tabletop HD Radio's FM reception approaches CD quality, according to Accurian, and can clean AM radio to raise its quality to FM standards. Radio Shack ships the new radio today for $200.
