Cingular AirCard 875
Cingular today started offering the Sierra Wireless-made AirCard 875, a PC Card adapter that can connect to all of the carrier's mobile broadband services. The AirCard 875 operates as a tri-band device on Cingular's faster HSDPA network, supporting up to 700Kbps downstream as well as 120Kbps upstream in real-world conditions; it can also connect to the more pervasive but slower EDGE network as a quad-band device. Support for the rarer GPRS and UMTS networks is similarly present and gives travelers a roaming ability on European networks, Cingular says. The AirCard ships today for $350 by itself, but can be had for as low as $50 with the addition of a two-year contract and rebate.
