JVC DV Cam with 34X Zoom

JVC on Thursday marked the introduction of the GR-D750 digital camcorder. The Japanese company proudly claims that the miniDV camera is the first of its kind to feature a 34X optical zoom, allowing especially close shots between F2.0-F4.7 without sacrificing quality through digital scaling. Although not an HD-capable camera, the D750's 0.68-megapixel sensor can adapt to either standard aspect or widescreen ratios. Still shots are possible at an effective 0.34-megapixel resolution. JVC begins deliveries of the camera to Japan in January for an undetermined price and should echo this release in North America shortly afterwards.
