Thursday, April 19thHaier previews impressive new UMPC
While not as powerful perhaps as Samsung's Q1 Ultra, Chinese company Haier is nonetheless preparing a fairly impressive UMPC, the X6. Driving the computer is a Core 2 Duo processor, and it not only sports Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g wireless, but built-in GPS abilities. Also notable is the keyboard, which slides out from under the screen and has a micro-touchpad as well as dedicated mouse-button keys. The screen itself measures 6.5 inches, and is capable of resolutions up to 800x480. Rounding out features are 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, and a preloaded copy of Windows Vista. It should be priced at 8,998 yuan ($1,163). [via The Register]
