HTC Windows Mobile 6

HTC today announced that it will offer an upgrade path (PDF) for owners of its recent phones looking to update to Windows Mobile 6. Owners of unlocked versions of the Advantage, Dash (S620), and AT&T/Cingular 8525 (TyTN) among other phones will be able to download the upgrade directly from HTC's website, saving users from replacing phones or waiting for carriers to take action.

The updates for unlocked phones will be available later this month, according to HTC. Customized versions for carriers that modify the default Microsoft OS should be available starting in June. The Vox and similar devices are currently unaffected. [via Engadget]
