Mobile U-verse control

AT&T has once again expanded its U-verse IPTV service with a new feature, remote recording control. Subscribers can now use cellphones to manage DVR functions, by browsing listings, programming episode or series recordings, and shuffling or deleting pre-existing videos. There are two provisos to this option, however; a phone must be attached to AT&T's cellular service, and only certain phones are compatible with the U-verse front-end.

U-verse is one of the few major IPTV services in operation, and is notable for focusing on HD content and including its DVR unit for free in many packages. Web DVR control is free to AT&T Yahoo subscribers, and late last month the company introduced its OnTheGo service, which lets users watch a combination of live and pre-recorded video on their computer.
