W999 Walkman Leak

Sony-Ericsson may be planning a definitive Walkman phone that would pack as many features as possible, according to a purported leak on a Swedish blog. So far known as the W999i, the phone would merge some of the best features of the Japanese/Swedish partnership's earlier Walkman models into a single design: while short thanks to a slider design, it would measure only 0.49 inches thick and speed typing with wide keypad buttons that split each key into two different letters or symbols depending on how they're pressed.

Other features rumored to be a part of the device include 3G wireless through HSDPA and a 2-megapixel rear camera; unlike many of the company's more advanced phones, however, the phone would go without a front camera for video calls -- pointing to its possible appearance in North America either in its initial version or a later W999a variant.

No release date has been given for the leak, but one should follow soon if the photo, which appears to be a formal product shot, is legitimate. [via Unwired View]

    Here we go again

At least "killer" has been replaced with "ultimate!" Even so, Apple must be ROFL at this nerdy QWERTY... Yes, someone will buy this phone but if this is the best S-E phone they can come up with, and looking at Nokia's offerings, Apple only has China knock-offs to worry about-- and THAT is the "real" competition, so far.
