Motorola prepping ROKR with RAZR2, PEBL influences?

Moto ROKR U9 Leak

Motorola should have an equivalent to its PEBL clamshell that shares many of the elemental features of the RAZR2, according to a single leaked product shot. Dubbed the ROKR U9, it would adopt the same rounded shape as the PEBL but feature the same extra-large external LCD and haptic music controls on the outside; a rear camera would reach the final model and will probably be rated at 2 megapixels. At least one element of the recent ROKR Z6 would translate to the phone in the form of a mini-USB headphone set rather than a 2.5mm or standard 3.5mm jack. Motorola's Linux-based JUIX interface is also probable for at least one version of the device.

Choosing a U9 suffix also alludes to expected carriers and sub-variants. The U9 itself would ship with HSDPA Internet support and is most likely to ship to AT&T for any future American release; an EDGE-only U8 version for T-Mobile and other providers is also possible, as is a U9m version for Sprint, Verizon, and similar CDMA networks. Actual launch information has not accompanied the photo. [via Phone Scoop]

    ROKR vs. KRZR

Slightly offtopic, but thought it might be of interest to Motorola Phone users...

My friend has a Sprint KRZR which he uses on a brand-new Macbook Pro and it doesn't work out of the box.

We had to patch some file, which you can read about here

ROKR, KRZR, RAZR... all STPD names if you ask me. But then again, no one did.
