Zen V Plus hits 16GB
Challenging the likes of Apple, Creative has upgraded its Zen V Plus player to hold 16GB of flash memory, twice the amount available on the largest iPod nano, and more than on any other comparable device. Zen V Plus players are distinguished in general by their 1.5-inch OLED screen, and the option of line-in recording, eliminating the need to record via microphone or from a computer. MP3, WMA and IMA ADPCM music files are supported. The 16GB Plus is currently being sold only in Singapore for $399 SGD ($262 US); the upgrade is likely to migrate elsewhere, however, within a few months. [via Anything But iPod]

Creative Zen is large alright. Might have to call it huge! =)
Creative Zen measures 15.9 x 43.5 x 67.5 mm = 46686 mm^3 iPod Nano measures 6.604 x 40.64 x 88.9 mm = 23860 mm^3
Comparing the size, Creative Zen physically takes up about twice the volume of iPod Nano. I am surprised that it took them over one year to catch up to iPod Nano's density.
To put Creative Zen's bloated physical size in perspective. It is 67% the size of a full Apple iPod! And until now only comes in 4gb and 8gb. Enough said.

does it even work on mac?

Hopefully that's the reason it was mentioned... does it even work on a Mac? I'm not talking iTunes integration, just being able to drag files on and off of it would be fine.

... see if it even works on a Mac. I've had it unboxed and plugged in 10 mins. now, and still don't see any way to make it appear on my Mac.... this might be going right back to the store.

... and I find it only works with my Mac if I use some freeware called XNJB -- it's very kind of the person who offers that software, and I'm grateful, but.... is that something you want to rely on?
