US soldiers to get exclusive Halo 3 Zune

updated 02:15 pm EDT, Tue August 7, 2007

Military-only Halo 3 Zune

Microsoft employee Cesar Menendez has revealed that soldiers in the US military, and their families, will soon be receiving an exclusive version of the Halo 3 Zune originally aimed at civilians. 300 units of the new Zune have already been given away in care packages, distributed through the USO at a recent event at the Baltimore Washington International Airport. Though the only new design aspects of the player are a tan color and new packaging, the remaining units should have the advantage of price, since they will be sold at an unspecified discount and only through military outlets. is this a new low?

If Microsoft crawled on it's belly it would be above this! Just what underpaid, under-resourced and under-protected service men and women need, a music player that can barely be given away. Desperation or just desperate? Why not hand them out to those still without homes in New Orleans? Of course not, silly me, they'd have no way of charging the brown turds!

    Guess what?!

These things will be fore sale on eBay faster than you can sync your iPod.

That means, the value of these will drop HUGE and Microsoft will sell even less of them (if that is possible). I hope Microsoft stock holders are paying attention!!!

    So Depraved

Comments so depraved. Regardless of Microsoft's motives, at least they are thinking of our service people and their families. Over 3700 will not be coming home. We should be in the streets and after our whores in Congress who have no shame. Then we can get back to our pretties and thoughtless comments.

Well if you had to give away your product to increase market share, who would you give it to? Wouldn't you choose an outlet that make it not seem that way? We criticize them here because we can. The media certainly can't laugh at them about it lest they be viewed as unpatriotic.

I'm no longer in the service, but if I were, I'd be very insulted to get a t*** instead of a real iPod. Fuckers
