Nokia 6500 classic at FCC

Nokia could be releasing its high-speed 6500 classic phone in the US, according to hints found in an FCC filing. Although no product shots or names are included, the device in testing includes both HSDPA Internet access and Nokia's recently added micro-USB connector for rapidly transferring files, features which so far have only surfaced in the 6500 line. Bluetooth is also confirmed.

Whether the phone is ulimately set to reach AT&T or will only be available unlocked is unknown, as is the exact model name; the label suggests a 6610-series device but would be inaccurate in relation to the actual specifications, as the 6610 is a far more basic device. The FCC process could greenlight the Nokia handset's release for the US before the end of the year.
