Samsung A513 and Gleam

Samsung was revealed today to be on the verge of releasing two phones for American CDMA cell providers. The A513 (pictured at right) is said to be a close cousin of the GSM-based A717 but upgrades the camera from 2 to 3 megapixels in addition to the changeover to EVDO mobile Internet access. Whether the camera will swivel for self-portraits and video calls is unknown, but the device will take a strong media focus when it arrives at Helio in the near future, according to the report.

In turn, a Samsung Ultra-series phone known as the U700 or the "Gleam" is targeted at the mid-range and will have a smaller camera sensor in exchange for outside touch controls for music. The U700 will purportedly be offered through Verizon and would be the first, if not only, Ultra phone in service at the carrier.

Neither tip was accompanied with release dates or price information, which may still be undetermined or inaccessible to the likely Samsung-based source. The complete state of the devices points to a launch for either phone sometime during the fall. [via Phone Arena]
