SanDisk has announced three new memory products, concentrated in the realm of SD. Preeminent is a new 4GB card in the company's Ultra II SDHC line; it is specifically an early entry into the Ultra II SDHC Plus line, and has read/write speeds of approximately 10MB/s, a full 4MB faster than the high-level Class 6 speed. Another highlight is the Hinge Lock, which allows the card to be attached directly to a USB port. It should be released in October at a price of $80.
The company has also unveiled its Multi Card Express Card Adapter, a device that allows computers with ExpressCard slots to read a variety of SD and Memory Stick formats, including SD, SDHC, and Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo. It should be out in North America and Europe in September at a cost of $30.
Addressing Memory Sticks directly, the company is releasing an 8GB Memory Stick PRO Duo in the same timeframe as the 4GB SDHC card, at a price of $160. Complementing it will be an 8GB Memory Stick Micro card, set for the fourth quarter; its performance is unknown, as is its price.
