Bang & Olufsen, Samsung offer Serenata teaser

The second collaboration between Samsung and Danish electronics firm Bang & Olufsen is due in just over two weeks, according to a new teaser site. The Serenata, also known as the F310, is set to be launched by approximately October 1st. Samsung's lone preview image also suggests information hinted by a previously leaked product shot, including the rounded slider design and an iPod-like scroll wheel that hints at a music focus different from the original Serene, which was intended almost exclusively for calls.

Earlier leaks have suggested the phone would embed 4GB of flash memory and support MPEG-4 video clips as well as music on an unusual, square 240x240 display. Broadband over 3G is also slated for both HSDPA and UMTS networks, though these reports have also suggested a 2,100MHz radio for either that would rule out the faster Internet access for American customers.

Availability of the Serenata is expected in the weeks immediately following the announcement and should include sales at Bang & Olufsen's few dedicated American stores as well as its European home territory. A price for the phone is unknown but will go without a discount from cellphone carriers.
