G-Speed 3 Gb/s eSATA solutions debut

G-Tech has released its new G-Speed eS line of storage solutions, which sport a 3 Gb/s eSATA interface, RAID 5 data protection when used in conjunction with the optional G-Tech PCIe RAID controller, and specialized support for multi-stream video workflows. Configurable as RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 or JBOD (with optional PCIe RAID controller), the eSATA solutions are based on 7200 RPM Hitachi SATA II drives each with up to 32 MB/cache, and use a Web-based GUI for configuration and management. The solutions are capable of single-stream 8-bit, 1080/60i HD playback in RAID 0 mode. The G-Speed eS is available now with prices starting at $1000.
