VAIO anniversary models

Sony Japan has decided to mark the 10th anniversary of its profitable VAIO Note 505 with a new, special edition of the VAIO Type T notebook. Resembling its predecessor, the VGN-TZ91 has a 11.1-inch LCD, with a native resolution of 1366x768. The processor is a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo, running on an Intel 945GMS Express motherboard with integrated graphics, but accessories include Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, an ExpressCard slot and ports for SD/MMC cards and Memory Sticks. Japanese-only features include slots for FOMA 3G broadband and FeliCa smartcards.

Two versions are currently available for pre-order until October 15th. The S is the personal model, and comes loaded with Vista Home Premium and 1GB of RAM. The NS has 2GB of RAM, and also upgrades to Vista Business. In both cases users can pick between several storage drives, including hard drives up to 200GB, or SSD flash memory. Prices start at 299,800 yen ($2,558). [via Impress Watch]
