Samsung 2220WM and More
Samsung today unveiled three SyncMaster computer displays designed for home users and workers alike who want built-in sound to save space. The 22-inch 2220WM, 19-inch 920WM, and the standard-ratio 920BM all include chin-mounted stereo speakers that can substitute for a basic desktop speaker set. All three also bring into play Samsung's more recent MagicBright2 dynamic image quality adjustment and a typical 5ms pixel response time that curbs ghosting artifacts during video playback.
The 920WM starts the line at $220 with a 1440x900 image and a 700:1 contrast ratio. The $250 920BM boosts contrast to 1,000:1 as well as adopting its taller 1280x1024 resolution; in turn, the 2220WM keeps this contrast ratio while expanding to 1680x1050. Each screen connects through DVI, can be wall-mounted through a detachable stand, and ships soon.
