Pearl 8130 at Verizon

Arriving somewhat later than expected, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 will finally come to Verizon on November 8th, the carrier says. The phone primarily features RIM's standard e-mail service and SureType keypad, but also includes a two-megapixel camera with flash, as well as built-in GPS navigation (here tied to Verizon's VZ Navigator service). Operating on 1x EVDO, owners can turn a Pearl into a modem via BroadbandAccess Connect.

For playback of music and video, storage is handled mainly through a microSDHC slot which supports card sizes up to 8GB. More interesting may be the phone's price: while it would normally cost $300 with a two-year contract, this becomes $200 after an online rebate, and $150 if a mail-in rebate is completed.

this is only a good thing if it pushes through. take a macbook and add apple's elegant multi-touch interface and there you have it: a s*** tablet computer.

better to do it now than wait for microsoft's surface to find its way to tablet pcs.
