Nokia N95 8GB NAM Leak

Nokia is developing both a US-oriented version of the N95 8GB and a version of the N82 with a similar amount of storage, an unintentional leak through the Finnish company's Nseries US portal reveals. Visiting the site with a Nokia phone reveals both "N95 8GB NAM" and "N82 8GB" models, neither of which have been announced by the company. The company has to date only used the NAM label to refer to a North American model of the original N95, which added support for faster HSDPA Internet access on US frequencies as well as extra system memory and a larger battery.

The N95 8GB has so far been available chiefly in Europe and addresses the battery and memory issues, but is best known for its built-in 8GB of storage as well as a larger screen and a shift to a black color scheme. The standard N82 has just launched and is not expected to gain more than the added capacity with an 8GB version.

No clues have been provided as to the release date of these devices or whether the N82 8GB will be available in the US, though speculation would suggest an announcement either at the Consumer Electronics Show in January or at the Mobile World Congress in February. [via The Nokia Guide]
