EOS-5D at PMA Leak
Canon may be set to release an updated version of its well-known EOS-5D camera at the PMA photography expo this month, Canon sales reps have reportedly said. Separate DPReview forum posts note that company spokesman from the CES showfloor and Belgium say that the EOS-5D Mark II will be ready by the time the specialty show opens on the 31st. Announcements may show as early as the week preceding the event, based on Electronista's own information.
No technical details about the camera have accompanied the leak so far, though the digital SLR is likely to see an increase in resolution from its 12.8-megapixel sensor and the newer DIGIC III processor from the EOS-1D Mark III. The chip would improve color performance as well as shooting speed and more autofocus points. Pricing and actual ship dates have not followed with the leak. [via Photography Bay]

It's been rumored that the 5D MkII would debut at PMA for months now. I was hoping for some additional information or more reliable confirmation.

I believe that Canon will, one day, release an EOS 3D, but not at PMA. And when they do, it'll have eye control focusing, like the EOS 3 film camera.
tindrum: the "D" stands for Digital, not Dimension. In Canon's film cameras, the 1 series is the top-of-the-line, and the 3-series is the next best. Currently, the 1D/1Ds are the top-of-the-line digitals, and the 5D is next. As the article states, the 3D would fit between the two. A 7D is also rumored, to be situated between the 40D and 5D.
MacNN: the 1D MK III is a 10.1 MP camera. It's the 1Ds MK III that has 21 MP.
