Comcast TiVo DVR Official
Comcast today took the wraps off of its long-anticipated DVR with TiVo service, giving users the custom interface normally reserved for TiVo boxes to digital video recorders provided for Comcast's cable TV network. The extension allows users to not only search for, record, and play shows with the TiVo front end (including HD shows) but also to use it for Comcast-specific functions. Through a technology dubbed tru2way, subscribers can search for movies on demand through the same interface as for regular programming. TV shows will also play uninterrupted while users check the schedule.
Prices are not yet public, though the feature is expected to cost slightly more than existing cable service and will require that the customer have a Motorola DVR, though Scientific Atlanta boxes will also support the TiVo update in the near future. The service is so far deployed only in Boston but should be available in additional cities before the end of 2008.

wording a little weird

Isn't that a little expensive? I'm already paying $50 a month for cable service, I'm not about to pay, say $51, for a Tivo add-on!!
Or am I a victim of poor wording?

I'd pay a buck extra for Tivo service! I have 3 Tivo HD's right now. Having Tivo service that is officially supported by the cable company (TW, in my case) would be a dream come true.
Of course, they shouldn't charge you anything extra, but cable co. DVRs are total c*** compared to a Tivo.
(Yeah, I'm a Tivo fan)
