New HP business printers

Computer giant HP has announced the introduction of several new printers, all aimed at business use. At the forefront is the L7590 All-in-One, which as its name implies is also capable of faxing and flatbed copying or scanning. All operations can be performed in color, and it can print anywhere between 5 and 35 pages per minute, depending primarily on quality mode rather than which color mode is being used.

The CP1515n and CP1518ni do not have any details disclosed, but the LaserJet CM1312 MFP omits the color faxing of the L7590, and can only print at 12ppm in black-and-white, or 8ppm in color. The CP1215 has similar performance and should be priced at $300, but is strictly a color printer.

In the realm inkjets, HP has unveiled the Officejet J6400, J4580 and J3600 All-in-Ones. The 6400 plays host to the same general functions as the L7590, and incorporates two-sided printing along with both wired and wireless networking. The 4580 drops these latter two points, and there is no flatbed on the 3600, though it can still copy and scan.

Last are HP's new monochrome LaserJets, the M1319f MFP and M1522 MFP. The former prints, scans, faxes and copies, but is mainly intended to be low-cost. The M1522 improves on this with faster speeds, as well a 50-sheet document feeder, built-in networking and color scanning through its flatbed.

    Gee there' a surprise...

...I just wish they would get the one I bought 2 years ago fully debugged before orphaning it...

I really really really wish someone would slow this train down - the environmental implications alone of the planned obsolescence would I suspect be daunting...

    still waiting

I want a printer that will automatically print both sides of an 11x17 page, have ethernet connection, and... that's it!

kind of hard to tell if "do not have any details disclosed" printers have those capes, but to save time I'll just guess "no".
