Apple applies for Cover Flow refinement patents

Cover Flow refinements

Apple recently filed for a patent, which appears to enhance the existing foundations of its Cover Flow technology on the iPhone and iPod classic. The patent application demonstrates the process of flipping through contacts, dates, pictures, and other information using both the default iPod scrollwheel and a square touchpad. The iPhone related diagrams show a user scrolling through Cover Flow items in the standard manner, as well as through arcing motions.

The application also shows a user flipping Cover Flow elements by dragging from the top of the item to the bottom, most likely to expose additional functions. Another figure hints that the metallic sides of the iPhone could be used to control on-screen elements as well.

    As we can see...

...just another example of Apple trying to keep up with MS's latest patents. Can't Apple do anything original????

(It's sarcasm people, learn to understand it!)
