LG LCD adds up to 6 displays via USB

Hoping to offer a new alternative to notebook owners and others forced to use only one or two displays, LG on Monday took the wraps from its Flatron LX206WU. Larger than its Samsung equivalent, the 20-inch screen shares the ability to output video using solely a USB connection rather than requiring DVI or VGA output from a video card. The technique allows as many as six of the wide LCDs to run from a single PC, with even notebooks supporting the extra space through a powered USB hub.

The Korean company also promises a higher-quality display than most with a 5,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 2ms average pixel response time, though the company does not say whether the display can handle HD video or other advanced tasks through the USB connection. USB support is believed to be initially available only for Windows. The LX206WU also supports DVI and VGA connections for any computer and should be available soon in its native country as well as other territories, though prices and launch dates are not part of of the initial announcement.

through the article till I saw "only for Windows". Why must you cross-post this on macnn if it is NOT Mac related. This is getting annoying.

To make it even better GreenG4, if you click the link for Flatron, it takes you to page in Korean. Like the average MacNN reader can read that page.

Come on MacNN do not link to pages that serve no purpose to your average reader.
