Win. Mobile on April 1st?

The next version of Microsoft mobile operating system, Windows Mobile, may be released on April 1st, a British site claims. Quoting "sources close to the matter," the site suggests that at the least a formal announcement will be made, in which case the update would be provided sometime thereafter via download and/or new mobile devices. Upgrades from Windows Mobile 5 to 6 have typically been handled by either by device makers, or regional wireless carriers.

Version 6.1 of the OS is expected by many observers to be an important milestone, simplifying the layout of Windows Mobile, while simultaneously adding elements such as new fonts, a new home screen and a task manager. Copy-and-paste functions are also expected, which may make smartphones more practical for business users. [via Pocket-lint]

    Apr 1,is that a joke? :-)

Sorry, had to do the pun. :-)

But seriously, if you update your MS software on your phone, does anything change??? Aren't all the buttons doing a specific thing and just that one thing?

On the iPhone, a software rev can bring lots of new changes to your old iPhone. But I do not think that is true of the current cell phones running MS software.

    Just a thought.

    Copy-and-paste is new?

Odd, Copy-and-paste is new in the next version of WinMo? Seeing the amount of complaints about the iPhone not having Copy-and-paste I thought that WinMo did have it...??? (On the other hand, WinMo also did not have Flash until just a while back. That was also complained about so much that I again thought that WinMo would have had it. Seems that people complaining about the iPhone do not know what the products they compare with actually do... Maybe I should check better myself, so I can reply with a witty remark about their own product not having the feature... :-P )
