HP Elite Webcam and LCD
Beyond its PC upgrades, HP today released two new, more universal devices for any computer. The company's webcam line now includes the Elite (pictured), a 3-megapixel unit designed as HP's new range-topping model. The device is capable of outputting HD video on a supporting app and includes both autofocus, tilt, and swivel to keep the subject in view. While centered on HP displays with a custom clip, it should also attach to many other LCDs and includes a stand that lets it sit flat on a desk.
The Elite attaches through USB and supports just about any audiovisual IM app, including AIM and Skype. It should be available first through Best Buy and online and will ship on April 6th for $99.
Alongside the webcam is an update to HP's displays. An upgrade to the existing w1707, the w1707 Vivid Color improves the visual quality of the 17-inch widescreen display while keeping the design. HP says the display should ship today for $180.

Autofocus and iChat
Autofocus is a great addition. I wonder if it would disrupt programs that detect an unchanging background and replace it with an animation or other backdrop.
