LG uncovers Vu touch phone at CTIA

updated 03:20 pm EDT, Tue April 1, 2008

LG Vu Official at CTIA

With its phone mentioned only briefly by AT&T and Rogers, LG today formally revealed details of the Vu. The handset is AT&T's first full-touchscreen phone since the iPhone and makes its selling point its mobile TV feature; AT&T subscribers with a Mobile TV plan can view live, over-the-air TV anywhere coverage is available. It also delivers 3G access with up to 1.4Mbps download speeds in the real world on AT&T's HSPA network.

With an interface that shares roots in the Prada, Viewty, and other recent LG touchscreen phones, the device also supports some of AT&T's specific features, including eMusic and Napster downloads, downloadable games, and streaming Internet music and videos. The phone offers a 2-megapixel camera with autofocus and relies on microSD alone for media storage. LG hasn't announced AT&T's pricing, but says the American provider will start carrying the phone in May, shortly after the launch of Mobile TV itself.

So has bobo been a little too vulgar about these paltry iPhone 'competitors' lately, or what?

No, I think he's been commending the fellows at MacNN for all their smartphone news they've been posting lately. And, the humble people they are, the editors decided to delete it rather then be fawned upon.

I don't blame them. I just hate it when people are saying what a great job I do. MacNN tosses those too. That's why you don't see those comments that often.

A lot of certified standard stuff has patents on it, like that AAC audio you get out of itunes.

Who knows who'll be suing whom for anything?

Are you able to download iTunes to the new Vu phone? That will be my selling point.
