Polaroid i535 digital cam

Polaroid launched a new basic digital camera on Friday, the i535, which is aimed at introducing people to digital photography. The i535 boasts a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, and 3X optical zoom as well as a fixed 2.36-inch display. The i535BB sports 32MB of internal memory, while an SD/HC card slot allows for memory expansion. Video can be recorded in a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels in motion JPEG format. A carrying case and flexible mini tripod are included, delivering a relatively complete package for beginners.

The camera gets power from two included alkaline AA batteries, which reduces its cost and means users don't need to worry so much about charging them. The ISO settings are relatively limited, at 50, 100 or 200. A macro mode allows shooting objects about 2 inches away.

The i535 is expected to hit Japanese store shelves in mid April with an expected and equivalent price tag of just over $100. [via Impress]
