MobiBlu Cube3

The latest digital music player from mobiBLU was announced on Tuesday. The Cube3 measures 1 by 1 by 1 inches, or 1 inch cubed, earning it the distinction of being the world's smallest digital audio player with a color display, just like the Cube2, its predecessor. The Cube3 can hold up to 2GB worth of MP3 or WMA audio as well as video and image files, including audio it can record live or from a built-in FM tuner. The Cube3 plays downloaded content as it's PlaysForSure certified and Podcast Ready.

Included software converts WMV, MPG and ASF format videos to a proprietary MSV format for playback on the OLED screen, which measures a tiny 0.6 inches acros and sports a 64x48-pixel resolution. The lithium polymer battery's life is rated at 10 hours. Charging the battery, transferring files from either a PC or Mac and listening via the included headphones is done with just one connection.

The Cube3 will be available in black, blue, pink or silver and can be pre-ordered for close to $100 for a 2GB version beginning in May through mobiBLU's webstore.

    dang!

I was going to post something to that effect, feynman! :D

That is a pretty limiting form factor. Stick it in your shirt pocket? Lump. Stick it in your pants pocket? Lump. The next best place is a keychain, but you'll probably break or scratch the tiny display. I think the slab is the most usable/packable shape.
