BBerry 9100 Mentioned

A second iteration of RIM's upcoming BlackBerry 9000 series has been spotted in a theme file for the company's smartphones spotted by BGR. The 9100 is mentioned as a separate phone from the 9000 and is included multiple times throughout the file, including underneath a carrier-specific category: at least one mention is listed underneath a section for Vodafone, pointing to the European and Asian carrier as its most likely initial candidate.

The raw code also confirms a few technical details of at least one 9000 device, including the sharper 480x320 display resolution (up from 320x240) and support for AT&T's commercial Wi-Fi portals.

Carriers for the 9000 in at least one form have also been identified and include both AT&T and T-Mobile; the latter provider is included in a code section for Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) calling and may see its version of the 9000 support HotSpot@Home to span calls between cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

RIM is still believed to be readying the 9000 for July or August.
