The article is here because Apple doesn't have a model in this segment.

I can use few gadgets like this but they need to have DVD playback, the OS can be whatever they put on it because i only want to use them as portable players and casual entertainment. I hope Apple will soon have something for this segment like a small affordable tablet.

Underpowered, to be kind!

400MHz processor?

7" screen?

Huge plastic hinges that will break with the slightest bit of abuse?

Wait ... oh yeah, the Powerbook 130!

Congrats Linux -- you've entered the 90s!

How much power do you need to run Linux, esp. to do basic office apps and entertainment? Maybe you should wait for some reviews to come out to find out how usable it is, before declaring it dead. Linux isn't OS X or Windows. It can actually run well on slower chips.

When people complained the MBA was underpowered, they were rebuffed because that wasn't the market.

No, the article is here because Electronista doesn't have the readership numbers that MacNN does, and MMM Media is trying to boost the formers numbers.

@ chas_m if you have a PowerBook 130, I'll buy it - I'll trade you two working PowerBook 170s...

I agree..

More juvenile journalism from Macnn AGAIN. Has absolutely nothing to do with Macs what-so-ever. So should not be on the site.

track pad size?

04/23, 03:34pm reply

Typical PC trackpads are tiny. So would a tiny computer have a even smaller trackpad? Would the trackpad be the size of my thumb?

Interesting idea though, but does it fit in the pocket like an iPhone? If not then old iBooks can be bought for the same price and the ibooks are faster.
