Fujitsu's iMac-like F/A50
Fujitsu has announced a new desktop system, the F/A50. The computer represents part of an increasing trend in the PC world, in which low-cost PCs by the likes of Gateway and Dell have attempted to reproduce the all-in-one design of Apple's famous iMac. Similarities in this case are extremely close, as the A50 features an identically-proportioned case, rear-mounted ports, and glowing indicator lights buried under plastic. The display is smaller however, measuring 16 inches, which limits it to 1366x768 resolution.
Inside the system uses a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo and a 250GB hard drive, with graphics supplied by an integrated X3100 chipset. Wireless technologies include Bluetooth and 802.11b/g; 2GB of RAM is installed by default, but this can be expanded to 4GB. Ports include five USB connections, an SD slot and a PC Card slot. The A50 goes on sale in Japan May 17th, and should be priced at approximately 180,000 yen ($1,752).

Apple iMac has better processors, better graphic card, better design, and OSX at a lower price. Why would anyone be remotely interested in this fugly knockoff?

Tiny monitor, integrated video, slower processor and Windows, for nearly the same price as the 24" iMac 2.4? Good lord, who would buy this??

I don't want to have to pay for Windows. If they offered a UNIX or Linux machine, I might consider it.

Keep in mind, that's Japan - they may be including tax, and things are often more expensive there.
