ATT Phone Insurance Soon
AT&T will expand its phone insurance to include nearly every device it offers except for the iPhone, a leaked memo obtained by BGR says. An update reportedly scheduled for June 2nd will see the provider expand its coverage to include high-end devices and limit the deductible based on the value of the device; users of most devices will be liable to pay no more than $50 out of a claim, while owners of more expensive phones will at most pay $125.
The note doesn't explain which devices fit into which tiers but nonetheless provides long-anticipated coverage for smartphone users at AT&T, many of whom pay $200 or more for their devices after factoring in a new contract.
However, AT&T's insurance plan consciously excludes the iPhone from the list, leaving customers with no choice but to pay full price for the phone without separate insurance. The company provides no explanation for the exclusion in the note, but in the past has left responsibility to Apple, claiming that the manufacturer's warranty is enough without explaining the lack of coverage for accidental damage or theft.
AT&T has yet to comment on the apparent leak.

iPhone Insurance
I was a little nervous buying 2 iPhones for me an my wife without insurance. We ended up buying plans for both phones through http://www.InsureYourPhone.com
They cover loss, theft, water damage and breakage. They also gave us stickers for a free lost and found program that pays a reward to someone who find our phones.
They were the cheapest ones out there and they don't cancel you due to claims or make you buy a policy after filing a claim like the other ones do.
