Dior Phone

Fashion house Christian Dior is today unveiling a new phone it says will help lift the company's profile. The Dior phone takes a different approach than the LG Prada or Samsung's P520 Armani and opts for flip design with both a keypad and a touchscreen. Additionally, the new phone includes a miniature handset known as the My Dior: the device is small enough to clip to a bag but pairs with the main phone to handle most call functions by itself.

The deluxe phone also promises a camera and will come in pink, red, and silver designer colors with a Dior-crafted outside pattern. Dior will price the phone well above most fashion phones with a $5,000 price, but unlike with the Armani or Prada devices isn't limiting the phone's network support to Asia or Europe and provides quad-band GSM calling that works completely within North America. EDGE data is also likely.

Ship dates haven't been announced.
