3K's RazerBook 400 UMPC

3K Computers on Wednesday announced the release of the RazorBook 400 Ultra Mobile PC. The ASUS Eee PC competitor sports an identical 7-inch screen with 800x480 (WXGA) resolution and SSD drive, but runs on a 400MHz single-core mobile processor from Ingenic that helps to lower its price point. Built-in Wi-Fi allows browsing the Internet.

The RazerBook's low price is made possible in part due to its use of the CE Linux operating system, version 2.4, along with multimedia, entertainment and organizational applications.

Thanks to its 4GB of solid-state storage, the RazorBook 400 is shock-resistant, and also handily doubles the similarly priced Eee PC's memory. Between the RazerBook 400's sub-2lb weight and a claimed boot-up time of less than eight seconds, the system is aimed at drawing in customers frustrated by the weight and slow load times of larger notebooks.

The RazorBook 400 is available on 3K's webstore and other online stores now for $299.
