Aus Mystery Apple Boxes

Australian resellers are receiving packages from Apple they aren't allowed to open until after Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference, MacTalk says. A photo of one of the alleged packages indicates that the box is under a non-disclosure agreement and that resellers are barred from opening the box until June 10th, or the same day as the Apple event after accounting for differences in time zones. An example box is relatively small and is unlikely to contain any typical computers based on early observations.

Clues as to the contents of the box are unknown, though at least one reseller speculates that it may be a single next-generation iPhone as a display sample each store, supporting rumors that the Australian launch of the handset would allow reseller sales rather than lock customers to buying from Apple or through carrier outlets. Others have suggested the boxes, if proven valid, may only contain promotional materials for whatever products Apple might unveil at its developer gathering in San Francisco.

    Total Fake

I call BS. Why would Apple do this only in Australia? And if you have an NDA in place, why restrict opening the pkg? The terms of the NDA apply even if you saw the contents... In all my years of working with Apple I have never seen anything like this. I've heard of news embargoes, but this one takes the cake :-D

    of course its fake!

I mean, how could anyone have been delivered such a box when the postage and address are blacked out? And that black out, you can tell its a bad photoshop trick. The proportions aren't even correct.

And the box is upside down!
