Sony Ericsson Alicia leak
A leak of Sony Ericsson's newest phone, codenamed Alicia, surfaced on the Internet yesterday. Looking a lot like the W980 music phone, the Walkman-series Alicia emphasizes the use of animations and graphics on its dual displays. The screens can reportedly display the current weather, if the feature is supported by the user's plan or network, or Walkman animations if not. The display is also said to change themes at various times of the day.
The W980's basic features are likely to be shared with Alicia, including its 8GB flash memory storage capacity, stereo speakers along with an FM tuner and transmitter for playing music via stereos or other phones. High performance ear-bud headphones and audio enhancing software is also part of the package. Non-music related functions of the W980 include quad-band GSM network support along with EDGE data. The user interfaces via the internal 240x320-pixel LCD display, and images can be captured with the built-in 3.2-megapixel camera.
A June 17 release for Alicia is expected, to coincide with the release of the company's C905 flagship slider. [via Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog]
