Sony Rolly Review
Japanese electronics makers once had (and to some degree, still have) a reputation for eccentric but entertaining gadgets -- devices that were fascinating precisely because they didn't make business sense and did something imaginative that no other device would do. For awhile, that creativity seemed to fade away. The Rolly brings that oddness roaring back in a player that can't help but generate smiles. Whether it justifies its feature set and price tag is the real debate and the subject of our full-length review.

This is really old news. This device has been in existence for a long time.

The Rolly only really started shipping to the US in the past couple of weeks or so! It's only the Japanese who have had it for awhile.

If you can afford it, this is a really cool little toy that generates lots of smiles as well as great music. I personally hate mp3 players that require me to wear headphones, and the sound that the Rolly produces through its speakers is exceptional for a device of this size. And if you can sit there and not grin when it starts dancing to your favorite song, then you've forgotten what being a kid feels like. ;)
Practical? Probably not. Great sounding? Yes. Expensive? Yes. But it pegs the fun-o-meter!
