Solar-powered MacBook Air

QuickerTek has introduced a pricey way for MacBook Air owners to show how green they really are. "Apple Juicz" is described by the company as a "major breakthrough" because it powers and charges the MacBook Air at the same time. The Juicz comes in three models, a 19-watt version for $500, 29-watt model for $600 and a 58-watt model for $1000. Each come with solar panels that fold into an included 10.5 inch carrying bag.

Apple Juicz requires a modified Apple Magsafe power adapter. QuickerTek says it will update a user's current adapter with military-grade parts for $25, or provide an already modified adaptor for $100. Either way, the adapters still work with a stock MacBook Air.

    Greener?

Or is this really to show how much green you have? The best way to be greener is to cease one's life and cease from procreating, or at least live in poverty and have no children so you won't use the earth's precious resources.Seriously, I wonder how long it would take me to recoup my investment with with the money I'd save on the electrical bill. Maybe this would be good for some specialized purpose such a neat military mission or hiking where I can't get to car or household electrical.

    way too much

I could see spending $100 or so, but this is way too high. The only need I could see is if you are out on some safari or wilderness trip reporting or photographing stuff and this is the only possible power.
