Tuesday, July 1stLG prepping 8Mpix touch phone flagship?
A new purported leak has LG developing a new touchscreen phone that would trump most competitors' offerings in sheer features. Referred to as the KC910, the handset would be one of LG's first eight-megapixel cameraphones and would add Xenon flash, image stabilization, and automatic face detection. It would also have the processing power to record widescreen 720x480 video at full speed. The interface will be "completely new" and quadruple the resolution of the screen from 400x240 to 800x480, according to the report.
The phone should allegedly be thin at 14mm (0.55in) thick and use premium materials such as an aluminum shell and a glass screen.
While the KC910 is far from confirmed, the description fits in line with available technology for camera phones and would have the LG device introduced in October, in time to compete against a reported Motorola rival that would also incorporate both an eight-megapixel camera and a touchscreen.

Phone?
So is this a phone or a camera?
Jack of all trades....
...master of none. Some people just do not get it. Adding an 8 Mega pixel sensor will not make it a better camera. I'm guessing that it has no optical zoom given the form factor a small and that they sensor is so small that you will get a lot of noise from it which will negate the advantage of the high resolution.
So this is basically a crappy camera/standard def video recorder with no optical zoom attached to a mediocre phone?

Gee, isn't this what the iPhone was crowned great for?
sounds original...

Aluminum shell and a glass screen, that is so first gen iPhone-ish! Although a little fatter, seeing the original iPhone was 11.6mm.
