Creative ZEN X-Fi for US
Creative this morning set US launch information for the ZEN X-Fi, its first Wi-Fi media player. The local launch quickly follows the Singapore announcement and prices the full wireless versions well below the iPod touch and also with more features than Microsoft's flash-based and similarly wireless Zunes, putting a 16GB version of the player at $200 and a 32GB player at $300. An 8GB player without wireless will sell for $150. All three should be available in early August.
Planned accessories will also make the jump to the US, with the TravelSound ZEN X-Fi speaker dock selling for $50 while protectors that include an armband ($20), a leather case ($25), and a silicone skin ($13).
The player lacks the touchscreen of its Apple rival but still allows streaming media from a local wireless network as well as instant messaging courtesy of a nine-point control pad; it also supports Outlook contact information and accepts outside storage from SD cards.

That's a lot of buttons with nothing on them... what's up with that? They should ditch the buttons, make the screen bigger and make it all touchy/feely... then it would stand a chance against the iPhone 3G...

Stand a chance against the iphone 3g? What does that have to do with anything. It's an mp3 player. You'd think my toaster is competing with the iphone.

Geez... could they make it any uglier. I agree, way too many buttons. If I was going to spend that much on an MP3 player; I would just get the iPod touch. Pay a little more and get something that has tons of accessories, games, and apps. If you haven't checked out the new iTunes App store for the iPod Touch (and iphone)..you should. Lots of cool free programs for you..!

The player looks so class! It will come with a better quality earphones? That's cool unlike those who only comes bundled with normal cheap earphones where I have to get myself a better one. Their x-fi is now on the player FINALLY I got to try them out to see how they sound must be good :)
