What is 3G TV spot

Apple has begun airing new iPhone ads around the world: the new iPhone 3G commercials feature similar aspects, but are stylized differently depending on the country in which they are aired. They feature a hand operating an iPhone 3G while a voice explains the possibilities of using newer 3G networks. The emphasis is on the speed of data transfer that the 3G networks allow, accelerating tasks such as surfing the web, finding directions and downloading -- all of which can be done "really fast". All of the ads feature the same background music and show of the same features but each show the features with country relevant information, such as using a map of Toronto for showing directions in the Canadian version or a Surf School PDF for showing downloading speeds in the Australian version.

A second variation of the commercial has also shown up in Australia; it is shot in the exact same style but features slightly different dialogue.

Thus far the commercial has been spotted under four different carriers, Rogers/Fido, TIM, Optus Australia and Movistar.

Update: Apple has posted three US-targeted TV spots on its website.

Optus Australia: Version one

Optus Australia: Version two

Movistar

TIM

    What about the USA?

I spotted two different Apple / ATT Ads just like these on NBC last night.

So they are running in the USA too. Don't forget about the country you are in or mainly writing to for your audience.

And before all you people across the bond blast me for saying that... this is a ".com" site and not ".UK" so yes it is first and foremost a site for Yankees.

    Narrow-minded

I've never seen such a narrow-minded comment on this website.

    .com does not equal Yankees.
    .us does equal Yankees.

    How old are you?

    While .com may not...

While .com may not represent US, I'd say more than 80% of the .com domains are based in the US.

Give him a break, will you?

    "across the bond"? Which "bond"?

    Internet

What I like with the internet, is that it has no borders. You can go everywhere you like and meet anyone you like. And, yes, a site can write about ads in Australia which people in the US read as well.
It was a narrow-minded comment, indeed, so he does not deserve a break.

Come on, give the guy a break! He seems to be only dimly aware that there are countries on this planet that aren't the USA, so the idea that this "internet" thing is a global phenomenon, theoretically available for access from any country in the world, is likely to be way beyond his ability to grasp.
