Friday, August 22ndEpson announces 4800dpi photo scanner
Epson on Friday announced its Perfection V300 Photo scanner is now shipping. The new scanner is aimed at photographers and features a 4800x9600dpi scanning resolution with the ability to scan 35mm film and slides thanks to a built-in transparency unit. Epson also outfitted its newest addition with ReadyScan LED technology, which is more energy efficient and requires no warm-up time when compared to traditional mercury-filled cathode flourescent lamps used in scanners.
The Perfection V300 Photo includes Epson's Easy Photo Fix software, which helps users to restore color in old photos, correct backlight and touch up photos with dust or discoloration. Dedicated buttons allow users to scan, copy, email or PDF materials quickly, all while offering 48-bit color scanning rates and 3.2 dynamic range.
Epson's Perfection V300 Photo is priced at nearly $100 and is now available online and in stores throughout the US.
