Verizon leaks BlackBerry 9530 box, 'Storm' moniker

Verizon packaging for the BlackBerry 9530 – now identified as the BlackBerry Storm – was leaked Wednesday, offering users a glimpse of the soon-to-be shipping product. Engadget reveals that the Thunder moniker isn't disappearing entirely, but that it is merely being reserved for the Rogers Wireless launch in Canada, as well as Vodafone in Europe. The SIM card will come pre-installed, along with an 8GB MicroSD card for storage purposes.

The GSM/CDMA-capable phone was last cited as having a October 13th release, according to a leaked screenshot of a store inventory system.
