XChange updates Sonar Bookend XTensions

XChange International has released an upgrade to its Sonar Bookends line of XTensions. Xref, Sequence, Fnote and QkLink have all been updated to work with QuarkXPress 8. Xref is a cross-reference generator that embeds reference items such as tables, appendices, chapters and figures. It utilizes a tagging system, which allows cross-references to be inserted whether a document is active or complete. The plug-in is also capable of updating cross-references across multiple files by opening all of the related files in advance.

Sequence automatically numbers figures and tables in a document. Pieces are added or removed from a file, and the XTension then updates the sequence numbers on all existing information.

Fnote is a footnote/endnote management tool with another tagging system, here associating footnotes with their references. The notes are numbered dynamically using a selectable scheme, and sorted so they match references.

QkLink allows users to define PDF bookmarks and hyperlinks within QuarkXPress, so they are automatically produced when the PDF version of the document is generated. Bookmarks can be defined manually, or detected automatically through user-specified attributes.

Xref retails for £105 ($192), while the other three packages all sell for £103 ($189).
