CES Keynote speakers

The Consumer Electronics Association today announced the lineup of keynote address speakers for the 2009 CES tradeshow to be held in Las Vegas from January 8-11; Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, Sony's Sir Howard Stringer, and Ford's Alan Mulally. The change of Microsoft's representative speaker is symbolic of Gate's retirement, announced at his 11th and final keynote address at the 2008 CES. The torch has been officially handed to Ballmer as Gates continues his two year transition from full time participation.

“Steve Ballmer and Sir Howard Stringer are driving forces behind the continued growth of the consumer technology industry,"said CEA President/CEO Gary Shapiro. "Alan Mulally is a true visionary spurring technology innovation in the automotive market."

More information regarding the CES event is available at the CES Web Site.

    again?

I thought Bill Gates retired last year or the year before or the year before. He seems to retire every year.

Maybe you read something I didn't, but it's Steve-y boy, not Billy boy, at this thing.

Testudo, I don't think me missed anything. He's saying that he thought Bill Gates retired last year and before and is surprised to find he's announced retirement again in 2008.

No, it certainly seems like they misread it. All the article states is that the change in speaker is symbolic of the change in leadership. That's it. Its not like Gates came out and said "I'm retired!" again.

    ahhhh

The CEO or MS AND Ford -- now those are some brilliant innovators!! Ford introduces a new gas-guzzling "station wagon" as it's flagship vehicle right in the middle of the meteoric fuel price increases. Now that's brilliant innovation!! Henry would be rolling over in his grave.

    Doofuses.
