Sunday, September 7thZune 120GB tips up on Amazon
Amazon today unintentionally revealed some of Microsoft's planning today with a listing for the Zune 120GB on its store. The new storage comes in at just under the expected $250 price point but through its listing appears to be virtually identical to the outgoing Zune 80GB, making no mention of new features beyond the existing share- and sync-only Wi-Fi as well as the FM tuner, all of which have been present to some extent since the first-generation player. It's unclear whether Amazon's entry includes placeholders or will reflect the final product.
As posted, the listing suggests a very conservative update by Microsoft to its devices that focuses only on capacity. Separate leaks have also pointed to a 16GB flash Zune that also changes little. Microsoft for its part has attempted to minimize the significance of its hardware and is instead emphasizing software with its likely imminent update, though what this will entail has been kept secret so far.
Some as yet unverified reports have suggested Microsoft may announce the new Zune on September 9th and would unintentionally clash with Apple's planned special music event, which is now believed to include multiple iPod updates. [via Pocketables]

Zune Zucks
Pity they didn't come out w/ this....say....2-3 years ago when the iPod had similar features--now the iPod is so far ahead of everything else it's not even worth mentioning this thing.
Kudos to MS
I applaud the company for continually fine-tuning the Zune and trying to make it better.
I feel confident that, given all they've done up to this point, this is going to be the year they sell one of those things.
YAY
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
